Annie Brown (Book & Music)
Annie Brown (she/her) is a New York City based playwright, director, producer, and composer. As a new work enthusiast, she has had both play and musical pieces produced internationally. Annie deeply enjoys switching narratives to create theatrical work that offers differing perspectives and empowers often silenced voices. Recent productions of her work include Remembering Morgan (Downtown Urban Arts Festival - Playwrights Horizons), Heard it From a Birdie: a Tweet Inspired Musical (Purple Light Productions), as well as numerous occasions of production work with 54 Below as a writer, arranger, and director (I Can Do That, 54 Sings The “Do Not Sing” List vol. 1 & 2). Other short works of hers include Cheesy (Dobbins Conservatory), Myles To Go (Players Theatre SPF), Snapshots (Players Theatre SPF), SCREWED (Freshly Baked), as well as other works in development. Annie studies Playwriting and Theatre & New Media at Marymount Manhattan College with a goal of continuing to expand the type of theatre she is able to help create.

Jackson Bradshaw (Director)
Jackson Bradshaw (he/they) is a queer, multi-hyphenate theatre artist, and filmmaker based in New York City. As an artist, Jackson is deeply passionate about new work centered on queer stories. Selected theatrical directing credits include Heard it From a Birdie: a Tweet Inspired Musical (Purple Light Productions,) The Apartment on Yucca by Stephen Jared (Premiere the Play,) Rising by Gabrielle Freitas (Dobbins Conservatory,) and Little One by Julia Bilboa (Dobbins Conservatory.) Assistant directing credits include Remembering Morgan by Annie Brown (Downtown Urban Arts Festival - Playwrights Horizons,) The Romantic Movement by Emily Bohanon (Dobbins Conservatory,) and Bring It On the Musical (River Campus Summer Arts Festival.) Jackson acted as the intimacy coordinator for Molly’s Poly (New York Theatre Festival.) Film directing credits include Jackson’s multi award winning short film: Untitled Self Portrait, Look Back, Sticky, Dinner Date, and the acting coach for Drukqs. Some of Jackson’s playwriting credits include Sent You a Chat (The Apartment Players,) Unpacking (The Players Theatre,) and Rose Gold (Dobbins Conservatory.) Jackson is a graduate of The Dobbins Conservatory of Theatre and Dance at Southeast Missouri State University with their Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting, Bachelor of Science in TV/Film, and Minor in Theatre Directing/Writing. Katy Hollis (Ass. Director)
Katy Hollis (she/her/hers) is an actor, singer, and dancer based in New York City. Katy is currently studying Musical Theatre at Marymount Manhattan College (MMC) and is on track to receive a BFA in Musical Theatre with a minor in Communication and Media Arts. Katy’s directing credits include The Box Play (A Play About Boxes) and Silent Sky (ass. Director). Select performance credits include Remembering Morgan (Downtown Urban Arts Festival - Playwrights Horizons), Fractured Moonlight (And Toto too), Wall! Sydney Borislow (Scenic Design)
Sydney Borislow (she/her/hers) is a theater designer based in New York City. She is currently pursuing a BFA in Scenic Design at Marymount Manhattan College. Previously an engineering student at Georgia Tech, Sydney loves to combine the theatrical and the technical to create magic onstage! Selected design and construction credits include: Remembering Morgan (Downtown Urban Arts Festival - Playwrights Horizons), The Caucasian Chalk Circle (MMC), Amelie (The Colonial Players), and Legally Blonde (The Colonial Players). Katie Howard (Production Marketing)
Katie Howard (she/her) is an actor, singer, dancer, director, and joyful human currently studying Musical Theater with a minor in Arts and Entertainment Management at Pace University. Katie’s marketing career began in 2018 as she took over the Head of Marketing position at Rock Ridge Performing Arts marketing not only the theater company, but over 15 productions as she also performed in them. She led her team for three years to pass and gain knowledge about marketing, creating content, and engaging with our community through outreach. While training in school, Katie now works freelance for companies to manage and create content for their social media. She is so excited to uplift Cooking With Butter? through marketing. Purple Light Productions (Producer - Garrett Langley & Annie Brown)
Purple Light Productions is an New York City based theatrical group with a focus on developing new works and amplifying the voices of new and rising theatre artists in the New York City area through productions, workshops, and staged reading opportunities. With processes focused in community and art development, the heart of Purple Light can only be defined by the individuals who aid to develop these works alongside our artistic team; the performers, vocalists, patrons, and technicians. Purple Light first got its footing in the NYC theatre scene through the short-play scene including productions with numerous festivals and theatrical companies throughout the city. In late 2022, they were able to expand both their horizons and community to musical work in partnership with some of New York’s most notorious cabaret spots while keeping their mission of uplifting new works and rising theatrical voices. Works of those include I Can Do That: Broadway Firsts (54 Below), The Struggle is Real (Chelsea Table + Stage), 54 Sings The “Do Not Sing” List (54 Below), and Heard It From a Birdie: a 2022 tweet-inspired musical which held it’s premiere as a song-cycle at 54 Below before being fully developed and workshopped in a musical format by Purple Light.
Purple Light Productions continues to uplift theatrical voices and new stories as well as foster community to keep the joy of new theatre alive.
